The basic procedure is this: I come to your home or business to see where and what you would like me to paint. I’ll bring my portfolio for viewing and to help with ideas, however each painting will be different and uniquely your own. You might want to gather a few ideas from any source available to you, such as magazines, books, etc. and include your choice of colors. Of course, you can rely on me to help with suggestions too, but the ultimate goal is to create something that YOU will be happy with in your home.
After giving you a written estimate for the project, I will do sketches or make samples for your selection and approval. The first set of sketches or samples is free.
I am able to offer you beautiful artwork that is consistent with the theme you desire, yet the entire project is designed to stay within the specific price range or budget that you are comfortable with. This is a system that works well for my clients and myself. However, every situation is different. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or make suggestions. I’m always open to your ideas. I have a long list of satisfied clients who have said they would be willing to give a good reference anytime.
I offer FREE ESTIMATES to anyone within a 10 mile radius of Bakersfield, California. Long-distance estimates can sometimes be provided by phone or e-mail. Should there be a need to travel for the initial consultation, an appropriate charge will be applied.
PRICING for FAUX FINISHES:
Prices for custom-designed faux finishes start at approximately $10.00 a sq. foot and up, depending on the number of colors and style being applied. A standard wall glazing technique starts in the lower price range, while extensive finishes, such as faux marble, are more costly - but still reasonable. All paint and supplies are included in the price, unless there is a need for any special equipment such as scaffolding.
PRICING for MURALS, ETC:
Unlike faux finishes, I do not price wall murals and decorative artwork by the square foot. Factors I consider when pricing a wall mural may include the complexity or detail of the mural, the size of the entire mural or trompe l'oeil, the amount of advance preparation that may be necessary, and the approximate time it will take to do the actual painting. Since each artwork is different, each price is different - but still reasonable. All paint and supplies are included in the price, unless there is a need for any special equipment such as scaffolding.
DEPOSIT:
There is no deposit required, unless the painting job is estimated to be $2,000 or more. In that case, when the job is estimated and scheduled, a non-refundable deposit of 20% is required. The deposit amount will be applied to the total cost of the job. This is average procedure for any Muralist/Artist.
SCHEDULING:
At certain times of the year, I am booked two to four months in advance. Though this is not always the case, it is important that a design consultation/estimate be scheduled as soon as possible to ensure that you are placed into my most current work schedule.
PAYMENT:
I accept cash or check, and full payment is due at the time the job is finished
